Many people in today’s society will say that they may hate working or things like that but that is NOT the case for me. Recently I got hired at the World Of Coca-Cola located in Atlanta, Ga. Ever since I started I have enjoyed EVERY minute of it. I feel like if I am working then I am not wasting and I hate to waste time. You know about wasting your time? It’s sitting on your butt all day and not doing anything with your life. I feel like a person should always progress. Should always better themselves and working helps you to be able to do that. I always encourage people to always be open to new things because you never know what kind of things could catch your fancy. Like for me. I NEVER thought that I would be decent and the retail business or at least know how to do it and look at me now! I am doing alright I think…. Like I said I think! Well I wanted to encourage those people out there who always feel like there is nothing in working or nothing in learning because when you learn it makes you a better well rounded person and that is ALWAYS good

So my freshman year of college was definitely more that I could have ever possibly dreamed or believed. I mean coming out of high school you hear all these things about college such as “Ohh its SOOO much easier!” or things like “Don’t party till you stop drop and fall!” and yes they are all true but you must experience these things on your own. It is one thing for some one to tell you about college but to experience it is another deal.

So here I was starting my first semester of College at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I was definitely nervous to say the least. Coming off mediocre grades in high school I was not about to let my self continue to wallow in self pity and continue to make horrid grades. So I spent my first semester working and when I say working I mean WORKING. So much in fact that I because obsessed with it. Often times not even leaving my dorm on Saturday nights when I heard friends were having certain get togethers. The “Get-togethers” is what I feared most. The partying and such, not really my thing to say the least. From a work stand point I was doing great and exceeding expectations in all of my classes but the social aspect of me was falling apart. I had a emotional breakdown about midway through that semester and did some things I am not exactly proud of and lost friends in the process but in my deep state of depression I learned a lesson. The lesson of having to be honest to yourself and true to yourself. As December was drawing to a close I was pretty much still a wreck and just in time for my 18 birthday…… You can see the sarcasm…. Not fun celebrating a birthday when you feel as worse as can be and there was no clowns or confetti to cheer me up. Just my parents and lord knows they tried. But as time progressed things got better right as second semester started I began to get back into the swing of things and I was starting to feel good…. But maybe too good. I started to party ALOT. Because it was the first time that I felt up since the incident of first semester so I was getting all the craziness out of my semester and yes I did get it out. ALL OF IT. I made just as good grades second semester as I did first and I believe that with everything that went on in my personal life I just stayed focused and pushed through everything even when I didn’t feel like it. I gained a great host of friends and learned how to love a better more productive life. I honestly believe that the more we learn from or mistakes and try to better ourselves the better we become in the future because of it.
